"Music is powerful. Our musical impressions and preferences create identity badges, and establish our belief systems. In this respect, it has the ability to bring people together, or divide us. By our chosen individual means of musical expression, we communicate ourselves to the world; and we want others to understand who we are - what we stand for - so it's critical to "get it right".
Music has the capacity to bridge generations, and benchmark our lives. This is really integral to those who have chosen not to marry, or have kids, because these monumental moments become a means of remembering our personal history e.g. "when I changed careers, I was pregnant with little Jimmy", and how we relate to global events e.g. fall of Berlin wall.
Music impacts anyone who has the privilege to hear. While our senses are a gift; not all, receive or retain all. Those of us who experience the full audio spectrum are blessed by what it has to offer our minds as stimulation.
While we are subjected to music everywhere we go, it's imperative that in private, we opt for music that does not insult our soul. After all, we are what we eat."
